I’ve no idea why they didn’t change it in the west as well. Or why they didn’t change it when they changed manic depression to Bipolar. The name change to Bipolar seemed to work well for BPer’s But then again maybe a little too well.
Bipolar sounds better than manic depressive. The multiple personality disorder has changed to dissociative identity disorder, too. Maybe next time whoever the authority can do this for schizophrenia as well.
And eat sushi, ramen, lots of fish, watch anime, read manga, be fit (Japanese are not nearly as fat as Americans) and also look at hentai. And we need to refer to people we know with suffixes like sama or San or kun or chan or senpai or kouhai
