I haven’t been on this forum much have been busy with miscellaneous stuff but I’m having a bit of a tough time right now. Went to the dermatologist for a skin cancer check and she has removed what she suspects is a melanoma. I get the biopsy results next week. I am feeling pretty scared right now not sure that I am strong enough to deal with this. I find hospitals traumatic after a really bad experience as an involuntary patient so I’m hoping I don’t end up back in one! Anyway bla bla hope everyone is well!
Hi Schwann, nice to see you again. I hope that isn’t a melanoma. If you’re in good health and the doctor caught it early then it makes it less serious. Yeah, I’ve had a couple biopsies done on skin growths, so I would understand being scared while waiting for results and no one likes going into hospitals. Good luck, I hope you get good news about the biopsy.
Thanks so much! I feel a bit annoyed at myself because this has been around for a while and I put off getting it checked until my partner forced me to go! Right now the wound hurts quite a bit so I am feeling extra sooky.
I had to look up what sooky meant. Interesting. I don’t know if this is a bright side, but now you learned to get things checked right away. Hopefully it turns out to be nothing.
I hate waiting for results on this kind of stuff.
Good luck.
Use us as a sounding board whilst you wait
Hope it’s all ok
Thanks everyone! I tend to go off on paranoid tangents so every pain and issue I’ve had recently is running through my mind as if it is connected.
Hope it isn’t melanoma, or is just a small section which can be removed.
There is a lot of hope for you. In 2005 I had a mole which turned into melanoma. The dr removed a section around it, in the office not surgery, and it the biopsy showed it did not spread. No problems since.
