My doc said some people lose fifteen pounds max on topomax I just took my first pill. Today. Anyone else try it yet?
No, but I’ve blown up like a blimp since willingly taking anti-psychotic meds four years ago. Used to be I’d look down and see a flat stomach and then my worst fear was achne to the perplexion of my girlfriend because I had none. Then I end up in an inpatient house on meds eating two helpings of meals everyday and next thing I know I can’t see my own feet. Managed to lose some of that but now am damn near close to my low point of weight gain.
I’ve heard of topomax, what is it exactly?
I tried it. Didn’t really work for me just made me nauseated. Lost some but its probably just as well to diet and exercise.
My husband takes Topamax for his epilepsy, and he’s lost a good amount of weight. He had a weight problem because he used to take Epilim for years and then last year he stopped it and started Topamax with better results. So it seems like Topamax can help with weight loss, he’s looking good lol!
It also can help with sleep and migraines

But maybe work for some?
Topamax was the only meds I begged my pdoc to put me back on. I found my weight stayed down, and I didn’t get as bad of headaches, or as frequently as before.
It also leveled of my moods, more middle ground, rather than the spikes and dips I was used to.
Sure wish I had med insurance, because I’d ask for that again.
I was on Topamax. It gave me tremors and didn’t stop my migraines. But yeah, I lost like five pounds in the two weeks I was on it.
