Just got work tomorrow then I can test seroquel for a couple of nights and hope it helps me sleep.
Plan B is to take up the original zyprexa which I kind of dread because I find it a lot more heavy than generics which I’m taking now. There’s no guarantee it will better my sleep either, but hope something gives because I don’t think I can carry on with piss poor sleep for much longer.
Thank you @Mr_Hope, I remember when I took Seroquel it completely knocked me out but I think I was on 250 msg so quite a lot. I can’t sleep at night either and sleep in in the morning. Maybe a small amount of Seroquel would help me too!
Been two days on 50mg seroquel in the evening now. I have not slept well, but at least I got some sort of rest. I’m glad it’s not the worst case scenario.
Decided to raise zyprexa to 1,875mg, since 1,25 which I took yesterday appears to be too little too fast. I’m taking zyprexa in the daytime to minimise interaction between the drugs.
Staying hopeful. Will just have to take one day at a time and see.
Four nights nights since I started the above regiment. The first two days were horrendous regarding sleep. I was sure the whitdrawal would become untolerable, but the last two nights I have slept half-decent.
If sleep continues I think I might make it.
If relapse symptoms should occur, the plan will be to up the dose of seroquel, but since I have been pretty stable the last years with no positives to speak of we will see if I can handle staying on low dose seroquel for sleep.
Yeah when I started lowering my medication I always got a few sleepless nights here and there. That would make me super paranoid that I was getting unwell and then so I would increase the dosage again. I think I realised there is a certain adjustment period where you will lose a little sleep. The problem is that for me even one night of poor sleep can exacerbate symptoms. So you shouldn’t be overly alarmed if you loose a little sleep since I think that’s kind of part of the course of lowing meds. At the same time, there is only so long you can go on with poor sleep before you become unwell. I think it is wise and important of you to have a plan going into it since once you become unwell the decision making process becomes a lot more wild
