To the younger males-do people call you sir?

I was always thought to be young, but now I’m almost always called “sir”…it catches me off guard sometimes I don’t think I’m ready to grow up!? What changed all of a sudden I’m always called sir after never being called it in my life before a year ago or so

I could see being called “man”, but sir seems kinda extreme. But it’s pretty consistent

One guy recently called me “boss” in a discriminatory manner, it pissed me off. I gave him a dirty look and I think he regretted saying it after that

People sometimes call me “sir” while I’m dealing with something business related. I mainly assume that people still view me as a younger teenager so I kinda get caught off guard by it sometimes.

Yeah you’re really young! Age wise. I’m surprised people call you sir, then again idk what you look like so maybe you look old.

I’m on the shorter side so I appear younger…short people usually look younger, male or female. If you’re tall I could see ppl calling you sir definitely.

Yes, just the other day a waitress was serving me and I thought she was nice, then she called me sir… I didn’t think this was a good thing.

I don’t really look old at all though. I’m not even at the point where I could grow any sort of facial hair. It all grows in patches still. I’m only five foot eight inches which I guess is kinda short but not really.

I’m 50 years old, and still called ‘dude’ or ‘bud’ at the Donut Shop and other establishments. I get a kick out of it. When my hair is long and I wear a ballcap, I guess I just look more youthful.

If you call someone sir in the army…that isnt an officer. .you will do pushups and are usually told “i work for a living”. So that always stuck…

Some people in the south use politeness as a form of aggression. I’ve been called “sir” before, but it wasn’t meant to stroke my ego.

That’s how it is with “boss” “buddy” and “pal” here. Especially boss. But buddy and pal are equally annoying.

I like being called “man”, “brother/brotha” “friend” and “bro” isn’t that bad either

I just realized I counted myself as a younger male without even thinking about it. I’m 57 years old.

Girls will usually call me sir, hunny, Hun, or sweetie depending on how old they are. Or they’ll just say “YOU”…escort would call me “doll”
