Hi was just wondering if I could here from anyone who has tried this med and your opinions thanx
It’s a major commitment but if you need it then do it.
You will get weekly blood tests and it’s pretty strong stuff. I was on it years ago. I know other people who have been on it and it works for them too.
It has serious side effects though from my experience it was effective at lowering the volume on most symptoms. For me the side-effects were a price worth paying. I’ve titrated down to a low dose and still get most benefits.
Beyond some of the serious risks (including a potentially fatal blood disorder), the others are more embarrassing than anything else. Weight gain and increased risk for diabetes are other concerns.
I have been on it for a few years and it is the only med that ever did anything for me, I was a non-responder to the other meds but clozapine worked for me which is typical. It seems to have less side effects than the other meds, you will need regular blood tests to check on your white cell count but any complications are rare, eventually you will only need to go once a month. It has caused me significant weight gain but the good news is that i work out alot so it has been mostly muscle mass, it has had a steroid like effect! I was up to 240 pounds at one point with very low body fat, I am down to about 220 pounds now.
Good know that. Are u still taking clozaoine?
Hi. We usually like old threads to be redone if it’s been a while. Most punters move on from previous entries and it’s always good to start a new conversation and get more up to date information.
Please feel free to ask your questions again and start a new thread. It simply keeps things more manageable and easier for the average user. Thanks…Edit…I see you did start a new thread. I’ll leave this here but thanks for moving forward.
