Tips for depression

I’m wondering what healthy things everybody does to help with depression/sadness

Me personally I listen to music and try to sleep it off or watch YouTube depending on the severity

you need hope…what gives you hope? build it slowly and you will feel better…hope is key to happiness.

I get involved with others. Whether visiting my clubhouse or doing advocacy volunteer work, when i get around others i don’t feel so depressed.

I agree with social stuff a little. Maybe a few hobbies. I take a nap too much. Take some walks and get some sun. I have untreatable depression. Have a good day hugs

Self care of all kinds

Shower, hot cocoa, putting on moisturizer, watching funny videos, taking your meds etc. every thing you can do to heal yourself. We normally get more depressed in the winter when the environment is more harsh. So we have to be kind to ourselves and treat ourselves well in these times

Caffeine and nicotine tbh.

Moderate exercise, music, video games, TV, the world wide web, just having a positive mindstate even helps.

Don’t turn to downers (i.e alcohol, marijuana) if you’re depressed, it’ll just make it worse.

For women, positive social interaction.
For men, taking action to complete a physical goal.
For kids, sleep it off.
For adolescents, change the environment for a certain time, probably 4-5 days. Seek mature counsel. (Ask for stories from your elders, which can change your current perspective. For boys I would recommend WW2 veterans, such as Vincent Speranza.)
For older folk, Get into a higher energy state and quickly find your resolution. Here I might even recommend anger as a higher state, because it would be even worse to bottle up your emotions at that age.

For caged animals with schizophrenia, create a mental list of all your interactions, and remove anything that sucks out your energy or positive sense of self. You don’t beat the endless vacuum by feeding it more, you beat it by escaping it’s root cause.

For people with health problems that create depression (blood sugar, diabetes, obese, bad diet, lack of any exercise, etc…): Change to a high natural fat/protein diet, remove the carbs and sugars, learn and accept what your body wants/needs at a chemical level for it to feel good (circadian rhythm, hormones, exercise, serotonin from love or social interaction, etc…), and take small easy actions that fulfill you with moving towards that positive direction.
