I try to make my day as productive as possible.
I usually volunteer at a place where I can associate with other people. People might not want to volunteer, because it’s working for free, but then it’s better than staying home alone all day.
Hi Judy, every night I look forward to a lie in. Then after that I try to be grateful for all the small blessings in life such as walking, eating and wildlife. Aside from looking after three guinea pigs I have always put out food for the birds and squirrels who are company of sorts…
I do the opposite of Tetsuo. I slow down, nap or maybe sip a little coffee.

if you can work, that becomes a big part of staying busy/ not depressed. I work about 15 hours a week, leaving me plenty of time to slumber and take things easy. Having something constant is key; could be work, volunteer, a 12 step meeting, etc.
Be unrealistic.
Push yourself a little to feel appreciation for the positives we may take for granted in everyday life. Even if it is not organically within you, nudge yourself to recognize that each person differs from another. Dogs love to show affection. Flowers have sweet aroma to attract bees, and wonderfully enough, humans. Just a few examples. A wise friend said, when you take your mind off yourself, you forget your suffering.
Mostly imagine situations that happened in the past that are funny or make you happy. Also, just writing your feelings down or listening to dance music of course
If I’m escaping into a good book I’m happy.
Singing is therapeutic.
I try to learn something new every day. If it’s at work or I try many different hobbies.
Going outside can help a lot. Being with nature can be better than moping inside.
Helping others can take your mind off yourself.
Read read read! And a nice cup of coffee. Walk on the beach too
Take time to bath or shower. Change for clean clothes. It helps doing something to take care of yourself. Trim your nails and put on skin care. Weight yourself and keep a record of your weight. Set up goals to do a little exercise and lose.some weight.
