I think in general, a tattoo is a full-time reminder of a part-time phase of your life.
However, I am thinking of getting a tat of my late brother’s beautiful golf swing. I don’t judge…just can’t believe how widespread tattooing has become.

I was surprised how many health care workers are tatted. Considering tats increase your chance of skin cancer
I’ve noticed this as well…tatted and smokers as well.
I think they’re trashy.
This video turned me off on them.
That being said, lots of people have them and everything is fine and dandy. No judgment. I just couldn’t do it myself.
I think there’s nothing wrong if someone wants a tattoo, but i do think that there’s a huge spectrum around what is appropriate and where tats are placed. I have 4 myself but they’re all neutral images placed in discreet areas that can easily be covered. People see my self-harm scars way more than they see my tattoos…
I’m covered. Neck, hands, legs, chest, arms, and head. I’m saving my face for when I’m a millionaire and don’t need to worry about work.
So far my tattoos haven’t cost me any jobs, including professional positions, but I’m not risking getting one on my face.
I have a lot of tattoos and plan to get many more. Yes some of them are from “phases” and I don’t regret them. I’ve covered a few up that I just didn’t like after a while anymore, still no regrets there. Most of mine now have pretty deep personal meaning and a few are just random because I liked it. No reason to judge a relatively harmless hobby.
I have a fair bit of ink. Arms, legs, neck and heaps on my torso. Never got one from a tattooist though. A mate of mine, my gf and i did them. Mostly done when i was a teenager. Im 30 yrs old now. And hate the majority of the ink i have haha.
I am not sure what I think about my own tatoos. I really wanted them, but after my third tattoo I realised I don’t want more tattoos haha.
Strange I know.
One arm is a psychedelic doodling
Another arm is album cover art
Legs both have flames as this hell got so hot once that my shoes caught fire
Have a joker on my chest and a skull and cross bones from Metallica live ■■■■
That was my first live album set
I have 6 tattoos
3 on each arm
I got them when I was in my 20s
I have tattoos up and down both my forearms.
I have two. Only one is visible (on my wrist). I think they can be nice, and I think it’s a person’s decision to get one or not; it’s just not my job to judge, and I don’t know their life.
People who judge those with tats must have not much going on in thier lives. Who cares? Gone are the days when it was mostly criminals and bikers and military folk who got ink done.
Not a tattoo on me but appreciate art and it’s art.
I’ve brothers and others in my life with tats and some have full sleeves and stuff and it’s all good. Problem out here is that finding melanoma’s and skin cancers is problematic. It’s a newer thing and it’s not an issue to me.
Yeah. I grew up in the 70’s and it was outsider art or practical. Lots of military guys I knew had like tats of anchors/nautical tats from the navy or blood type/army tattoos. I just saw the start of that explosion in the late 80’s early 90’s where office workers and such were looking to get tattoos but honestly the art exploded…so much better stuff out there.
It doesn’t bother me and I appreciate the art but as a family with melanoma in it’s history I’m not going to get one anytime soon.
I have no tattoos. I already live with too many regrets
I thought of getting one just as reminder of things. But realized I am hairy guy. Tattoo will look even more weird.
That’s a good point about it being more difficult to detect skin cancer when there"s a tattoo.
@rogueone I’ve never heard of the melanoma thing with tats. Interesting.
