I actually got it by having a meltdown over the phone

They invited me to an assessment

Told them I would never go see someone

Refused to comply and for that they gave me the mobility part standard as well

Last year I had to renew it.

Took them about 6 months for a decision and got some back pay

It was a 2/3 year time and now 6 years

They also increase standard to enhance daily living

The money has been used to assist my ability to look after my home and travel in my car

Can’t stand public places or transport these days

So the car is very important to helping with that

Goes towards grocery delivery fees, prescriptions, controlling temperature and probably more things I can think of

I have real issues with my body temperature regulation but think it’s meds more than anything

Aren’t you in the UK ? How do they let you drive with a diagnosis of schizophrenia ? No offense it’s just they won’t allow me.

I had to declare it, and then let them decide… whether they would allow it or not would depend on stability. But I choose not to drive and gave up my license because I would have had to review it at least yearly.

They stopped me for about three years

But then they let me do it

However, my pdoc has now changed, which might mean I lose it again

:man_shrugging:

Trust me I know how horrible it is when you can’t get a pdoc to sign off the DVLA form

My old pdoc stopped me getting it due to agitation

They start off with a yearly license renewal and then 2 then 3 yearly

Mine expires this year

If you apply to DVLA you can protest a decision you disagree with

Then you can take it to court for an appeal
