I love film photography. The noise in film looks moody to me. The only thing is that it’s expensive to get an enlarged and the chemicals. I also need to move to an apartment and may not have a room for it.
Good film photos

I’d recommend compromise. Shoot film, but scan your negs and print digitally. Less space, less expense. It’s how I do it when I shoot film. Check out William Verbeek on Youtube - he has some great stuff.
How much does it usually cost to get that set up?
Scanner was $400.
Developing tanks $60
Darkroom bag $32
Chem bottles (accordion style) $94
Developing bath tub (Rubbermaid from Walmart) $12
Sous vide for water temp control $200
Misc stuff from squeegees to hangers, etc., $150
Cinestill C41 chem kit (4 qt) $100
That’s a chunk of change. I’ll have to see what I can do
A lot cheaper if you can get it used, but more time-consuming to track it all down. Your biggest expense will be film and chem.
My main issue is going to be finding room for all of it. I only have the money for a small apartment
That’s pretty cool!
I mainly develop black and white film, though I never learned how to do color.
I used to have a darkroom in a closet. I got an amazing enlarger on ebay for like $200 some dollars. Used to get my chemicals from b&h. I love film photography. I miss it
I can do both, but I gravitated towards colour because I’m lazy AF. You have to carry around filters when you shoot B&W for the sky, leaves, etc. With colour I can apply the filters digitally and change them if I don’t like them.
I’m lazier than you. I never went out to buy filters.
I have an ultra violet filter some where. Probably lost for good. When I get money I’ll try to make a dark room and get some good filters
