I’ve been thinking of going back to the doctor and requesting a second antipsychotic she will probably put me back on haldol.
It’s becoming difficult to handle the fedora man, and hearing whispering. Aaron too is hard to deal with. Its because I’m stressed I think.
I don’t like haldol. First generation antipsychotic which causes too much movement side effects. Wow so many people on this? I didn’t think it was used that much anymore.
I only want to take atypical antipsychotics.
It is all subjective, many people are doing great on 1st gen aps and had bad side effects on new ones…
I would prefer an atypical but they seem to want me on haldol. I already have TD.
I was on the first generation antipsychoitc Clopixol injection for over two years. I got akathisia and dystonia. Hate that crap.
I want to go back on Haldol, too, cuz I feel like it helps with my aggressive thoughts better than what I’m on. Too much of it gives me akathisia, but I never got in trouble for THAT. 5mg a day would be good.
You have TD and they want you on Haldol? Wow. Anyway I shared my opinion.
In the US, the FDA recently approved a new med called valbenazine for the TREATMENT of TD. You might ask your pdoc about it.
I’m on Haldol, surprisingly it was Abilify and Latuda that gave me akathisia.
Typical antipsychotics cause worse EPS than atypical antipsychoitcs. It is a fact. My nurse has told me this repeatedly and it is clear from my research that this is the case.
In case you don’t know what EPS is: Antipsychotic medications commonly produce extrapyramidal symptoms as side effects. The extrapyramidal symptoms include acute dyskinesias and dystonic reactions, tardive dyskinesia, Parkinsonism, akinesia, akathisia, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.
yes statistically they do, but that doesn’t mean that everyone will have worse eps on typicals or that atypicals are harmless for everyone.
Yes I agree. That’s all I was saying that statistically typicals cause worse EPS.
Everyone knows on here I am under a lot of stress, and Aaron is confirming things that people have said but then he tries to make me doubt my partner, doctors and even people on here.
