Apparantly all reddit just hate haldol. Because mainly of TD. Its a miracle drug cause as a depot it has the lowest drowsiness scaling (some report like 0,7 out of 10 drowsiness) like quetiapine has something like 8/10. A lot of peoplr praise abilify and vraylar and geodon cause of stimulation. Actually those atypicals caused crazy anxiety and insomnia. I like my haldol, literally no side effects, weight neutral also. Dont have any TD, I actually had some akathisia and TD on risperidone.
I likes haldol. I was doing fine on it. I will never understand why my pdoc took me off it. But I’m doing fine now so I guess she was right. But there was nothing wrong with the haldol.
What AP are you now? Sadly my psychiayrist believes that dopamine modulators like abilify and vraylar wont be effective cause i suffer from mania also, but allows antidepressant use. I tried cymbalta, but found too activating. For me only neutral or low drowsy meds are the best. Thats why im back on lexapro cause its neither drowsying neither activating
I take Saphris at bedtime and Rexulti in the morning
Same here it’s a absolute miracle for me and I almost refused it due to the sh*t I read on the internet
I know right? Low dose im like 50mg depot every month and 0 positives, helps agitation a lot also
I had horrible EPS symptoms on that drug, and the pdoc started me on Diazepam and Procyclidine to help and I was on those drugs for long after I quit
Just have to accept that every experiences these drugs differently
Haldol is potent and effective, but at a cost for many
I frankly don’t hate any antipsychotics wheater they are old or new ones because I know that one persons choice of meds can be another person’s poison.
My psychiatrist says haldol is the best med
Clozapine for the win
I had my worst medication experience with Haldol. I was sedated beyond belief so I couldn’t function, it gave me horrible anxiety and panic attacks, it gave me EPS. I know it’s helpful for others but wasn’t the one for me
