Think it's okay to take klonopin?

when trying to stay sober?
i’m having MAJOR panic, but i don’t want to screw up
or start using again. i know it’s a prescription, but am conflicted,
it feels like cheating.
i’m scared it’ll set me back. should i avoid it and just stick with the antipsychotics, nothing else?
i’m conflicted. there’s a thin line between taking pills medicinally and recreationally,
especially with benzos. what to doooooo?

i’d feel like a hypocrite if i just decide some drugs are okay, and not others. ah

Its a tough line.

This new psychiatrist I got want me to take benzos to help me during the season.

I used to take so much klonopin with cocaine and alcohol though so I opted out.

I’m sure i made the right choice. Screw the doctor

i used to do the same thing.
think that’s why i’m worried about taking it,
incase it makes me want to do other drugs, or drink again. klonopin makes me dumb, less inhibited.
i’m just gonna have to deal with the panic and anxiety another way i think.

Ya in my eyes benzos are deadly I abused them heavily beyond what any person should.

They really are an amazing drug, In fact too good of a drug.

The withdrawal symptoms last around 6 months so you have to be careful. I have been a bit on edge in the evenings recently and I am wondering if something like that would help me. My advice is be careful.

First off, good job staying sober! I know it’s a tough road. Secondly, is there anything you can do to distract yourself somewhat from the feelings of panic? I don’t know what you’re into, be it music, videos, video games or whatever. Also maybe talk to your pdoc when you’re able about something else you could take for the anxiety. I take gabapentin and although it’s not the most effective drug i’ve ever taken, there are other options out there. Hang in there.

I really like L Theanine as an alternative to benzos. It’s over the counter.

If you have a history of abusing benzos, there are other alternatives you can ask for. I take gabapentin, which is less addictive than benzos. It might be something to talk to your doctor about at your next appointment.
