I think a lot of people don’t like it when they fight on the ground. Is so unlike traditional boxing in that regard.

yeah a lot of them have wrestling or Brazilian jiu jitso backgrounds? taking the fight to the ground seems to be the equalizer for some guys who don’t have the hand speed to stand.

I’m not a fighter, but I’ve been exposed to it. like I said, my older brother tried to get me into it. when I was younger it didn’t bother me to see a guy get knocked out, now it makes me cringe.

Yeah I reckon traumatic brain injury is a real issue for these guys. The cumulative effects you know?

when I was in 2nd-5th grade all we did was fight, play tackle football, play with (toy) guns and water balloon grenades and go in the woods and be rough and rugged. we would beat each other up a lot. no one my size was able to beat me in a fight because my friend taught me how to fight really well and how to be strong playing football… oohhhhhhh the good times!

I remember we used to have wrestling on the trampoline and once he hit his head really bad

Ufc is brutal, but not as brutal as boxing, because boxing subjects its practitioners to a prolonged, relentless pounding to the head. Ufc doesn’t do that so much. Also, it’s not as bad as football, because of the massive impacts to the head that boxing causes. Football also busts up the bodies of its players.

What? @Lifer I did BJJ. Their reasoning is that 85% of fights end up on the ground anyways. Standing is great but when you fall what do you do?

My dad and went to a live UFC fight with two women pummeling the ■■■■ out of each other. It was awesome.

well now I know.

anyways was just thinking today that I’m going to get back into running 5k’s and stuff. I was always a good runner growing up with good endurance.

that means I wont ever have the body of a fighter anyhow, don’t know how i’ll defend myself? avoidance probably
