The washing machine was letting out water into the sink , and it sounded like a human voice albeit I couldn’t make out actual words. That was a new one for me. Usually it’s the toilet flushing at night that does that.

I hate it when inanimate objects sound like voices, it’s creepy. The shower always sounds like people screaming to me. Freaks me out.

I think I’m lucky though as I don’t hear voices to anything like the degree many here do. Apart from the toilet flushing and this morning the washing machine it’s been the very occasional couple of words or sentence. There’s been no running commentary as quite a lot here have experienced.
That must be equivalent to pareidolia for sound. Hearing patterns in sound and making a voice with it like some people see patterns and then make faces with it.
