The side effects of Abilify?

I am supposed to start on Abilify next week. and alot of the side effects scare me and i’m starting to consider wether it’s worth it or not.

does anyone have any experience with Abilify? if so, please let me know

for me: lethargy & lack of concentration :frowning:

for others: some find abilify stimulating, but also experience restlessness

If you are doing good on other med I’d say it isn’t worth the fuss. Source: self experience. It was most pushed AP advertised like a best thing ever and wondercure. Good hooked on the hype train, pdoc said to try it. Generally I regret that I went of AP I was doing quite good on and it started going from med to med. I also feel like it was falsely advertised.

Don’t be scared about it until you try it. Just because other people experience bad things does NOT mean you will. Many people find Abilify to be the AP with the least amount of side effects. That was not the case for me, but it could be a miracle med for you and you won’t know until you try.

Been on it nearly three years. For me it’s by far the best drug with really no sideaffects. Listen to Anna

It’s worth to say that many people also often find another (sometimes older generation) to be APs as the one with the least amout of side effects for them.

They tried me on it back in 2005 when it was new. My case is rare, though, they said. So, don’t expect this to happen to you. I had a dystonic reaction and had to be taken to medical facility to be injected with Benadryl and was cured of the dystonic reaction instantly. They stopped that and tried Seroquel and it has worked for me to help concentration.

Ive just started ablify only on 5mg haveto go up doe so I can have injection … so far so good not depressed or suicidal … starting talking again feel myself about 60percent … I was on risporadone before and I was a shell of myself. Not really expierencing side effects … yet

Unable to sit still for a long time, dizziness, and nausea. I’ve only been taking it for around three weeks but still better side effects than the other antipsychotics I’ve taken.
