The price of coffee is going up

Today I talked with my local grocery store keeper and he told that there has already been the increases of coffee prices due to the lower production of coffee in some key nations such as Brazil. The climate change has caused smaller harvests in these nations. He also said that there will be additional increases in the future. Have you seen the price of coffee going up? Has Starbucks or other chains increased their prices?

At two of the Co-ops here the coffee is expensive where you pour your own cup. It’s more expensive at the Co-op closest to me because it’s organic.

Last Thursday Starbucks raised their beverage prices by an average of 1% across the U.S, a move that represented the company’s first significant price increase in 18 months.7 Sep 2021

The price of a lot of stuff is going up around here (Canada). Check out the graph on this website over the last year. I just paid the most I have ever paid for gas the other day. The inflation rate just keeps going up and up…

@Headspark It is amazing how much the prices are rising. I do not know what the inflation is here. My view is that food prices are not rising here yet. I do not own a car and so I do not know what the gasoline price is here. It seems that it does not make sense to save because the inflation is so high.

At home I use coffee pads. I pay 2.79€ for 36 pads. Wednesday I was in Brussels for a selection test and took a Starbucks. It was 4.70€! Really expensive.

@TheFountainPen 4.70 euros is a lot. I live near my hospital and I went there on Monday and I bought one coffee at their restaurant. It was just 1.8 euros. My town is so small that we have no Starbucks or other coffee chains here.

I buy this coffee. It cost $38 USD, last time I picked some up! It’s currently 32¢ per k-cup. It used to be 25¢ per k-cup, so about $30 USD for the box.

Not a huge change, but it is going up in price.

Still much cheaper than going to Starbucks, though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anybody know what the price of coffee is in McDonalds or other fast food chains?

This is a good YouTube video.

The Colombian coffee I buy at Walmart is less than 8 cents per cup

I buy McDonalds McCafe coffee by the can. It’s an extra large can (1.36 kg) from Costco. It currently costs $19.99 CAD. I brew it every morning at home. I don’t know what McDonalds charges for a cup of coffee though, I never buy it at the restaurant.

I try to buy coffee when they have special sales. Recently at Lidl I got three 500g packs for eight euros. This was a good deal. I now have four 500g coffee packs in my storage.

Is the world economy collapsing?

Climate change is ■■■■■■■ the world up. Say goodbye to good quality coffee.

Way to go polluted world!!

I go to Starbucks every morning. I think it is 2.42 for a small. They give me free refills throughout the day. It’s been that price for a while. Sometimes that’s my only social interaction for the day.

I usually go for an espresso and it’s priced at £2 - £2.50 a cup

So that is $3.50 for an espresso for American folks
