The nursing home has changed their mind about accepting my mother in law as a patient

The punches keep coming at my house.

The place that said they would take her and allow her to do her own dialysis has now gone back on their word.

This is only after we delivered all the supplies,

That we now have to pick up again.

I don’t know what’s going to happen now.

This situation seems impossible

Because of her condition and her kind of dialysis.

They said it was fine in the beginning, but changed for some reason.

Can you look for a different nursing home? There’s got to be something that can be done

The only one that can do her kind of dialysis,

Is over two hours away.

We really screwed ourselves allowing her to do home dialysis.

Can she see a dr and have it done differently? Whatever that procedure might be? If not, I’d send her 2 hours away and visit once a week

It’s more likely that she’ll have to change her method of dialysis,

But we have to have the doctor approve that,

Then she has to have a surgery to prepare for it.

It’s complicated from every angle.

But totally worth it.

well they will have to hold her until you find another home simple as that…she’s not coming back…be firm on this I hope.

If this ends up being the only option, your MIL will have to go to the nursing home that’s two hours away.

I’m surprised that nursing homes are so fussy about the dialysis. Aren’t nursing homes supposed to be capable of taking care of people who can’t take care of themselves? Isn’t that the whole point?
