I prefer watching movies at home now to be honest.
I didn’t read the article but just based on the title:
Going to the movies has been on the decline for a long time. It’s a bit like newspapers. I remember a long time ago, people said they wouldnt exist in a few years. Just like newspapers, I don’t think it is likely to completely disappear for awhile. It just has become, and will continue to become, more of a niche market.
It’s been several years since I have been to one, but I kind of like the change once in awhile. I prefer watching at home as well, but once in awhile it might be nice to have the option of a huge screen and booming speakers.
I don’t even remember the last movie I saw in theatres. Dunkirk maybe? It’s been a loooong time
Ofcourse lol but they had it coming
$20 for popcorn? Who’s laughing now!
I agree. I would much rather watch a movie at home.
We always have subtitles on, we can pause if someone needs to pee (and they don’t miss any of the movie!), we can eat whatever we want as we watch, without being limited to concessions that only have popcorn, candy, and hotdogs. We can have blankets and we can cuddle the fur babies. No obnoxious people who talk the entire time.
I hate the movie theater. Let it die.
It also gives you am excuse to pay $20 for food with Uber eats .
Also no feet on the back of your chair or gum on your shoes
Ohmyyygossshh… For real. Why do people think it’s ok to put their nasty feet near my head?
And speaking of gum, it’s fairly well known that movie theaters are disgusting. I hate that people leave all their trash and half eaten food everywhere. The theater employees don’t have the time to properly clean the theater before the next movie showing. IDK if they do a proper cleaning at the end of the night or not.
Yuck.
Loool that’s so funny. Yea I would imagine it’s a germaphobes nightmare.
Idk maybe Netflix will make movie theaters become extinct like game consoles did to arcades in another decade.
But then again Dave and busters is still in business.
I once saw a horror film in the cinema.
Also house of gucci movie.
Now i havent been in ages.
Pfft!
I have a small movie theater in walking distance and I still haven’t been there in the four years I have been in this little town.
Been to too many popcorn flying and back seat kikermuthafakus to want to go.
If there were drive in yet. Then yes.
Steven Spielberg recently said streaming movies threw the film makers under the bus. Lol! Well ■■■■ him. He had his time.
Agreed and good riddance to an unpleasant experience.
I like to go if there are less than 10 people in the theatre.
Then its like my own personal theatre
If they do close I’m gonna invest and buy one. Free floor popcorn and gum for life!
Going to the movie is so expensive. I’d rather watch them at home.
I’ll continue to watch every new marvel movie in theaters until I die or they stop making them.
My local theater only charges 5 bucks per ticket on Tuesdays and I skip food/drink/candy. That’s dirt cheap.
Well… I guess I’m alone, or almost alone in my opinion.
But
I love going to the movies. And I love seeing them in the theater, on the big screen, where they were intended to be seen. There’s some really upscale sorts of theaters that, while not totally close, are not so far away that I can’t get there.
I’d go to a movie with you any day, ma’am.
That would be fantastic!
