There is a story about Grant that after the successful siege of Vicksburg he was derelict in his duty. He went on a three week drunk on a riverboat filled with prostitutes. Of course, there are always stories like that circulating about famous figures. You never know if they are true. Grant was known to be a big drinker, anyway.

Did you know Morgan Robertson wrote Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan, a novel about how a ship, Titan, sinks after being hit into an iceberg, in 1898, before the actual Titanic? That’s just weird.
