It’s so beeping expensive. Thought of buying a few stir fry packs to get more veg in my diet and thought " Ah,but I’ll need to add some meat", but the price of meat…!!!
Shop sales…when something goes on sale than buy a pound or two of it and cook some and freeze the rest for later.
Stop eating meat and help reduce global warming. Plus Paul from the Beatles wants you to.
I’m not sure I could stop meat. At least not through buying the supermarket vegetarian products most of which are fairly revolting/uninspiring .
I had a spell of buying a heap of frozen vegetarian products a while back and most of them I’d have to be in a masochistic frame of mind to buy again.
I guess it helps if you can cook a little. I make a meal out of rich mashed potatoes, or sauted asparagus, or vegetable soup. Just learn to use garlic and salt and butter.
How do you make mashed potatoes “rich”? I hardly ever buy potatoes as I don’t like peeling them(it takes me ages).
If I make a soup, which isn’t that often,it’ll be a mushroom soup or putting frozen veg in a saucepan with stock cube and water; boiling, simmering, and then blitzing with the blender(same thing about peeling some veg other than potatoes).
Firstly, every good veggie soup is not made with stock cubes. You cook onions and butter in the bottom of the pot. After the onions clarify you add water, garlic powder and maybe sage. Then you put in diced carrots potatoes or whatever.
Rich potatoes are potatoes with a bunch of stuff. Usually butter, chives, sour cream, salt, pepper, or garlic.
I leave my potato skins on btw. More nutrients that way. Just chop them, boil them all the way, then mash or whip them.
I mostly eat processed meat. I know it’s bad for me, but I figure that if I do a little exercise it will ameliorate the bad effects.
I buy it on sale only and not that often, Last week I bought a big pork roast for $10.00 made 3 big meals and sandwiches all week, was a nice treat
same here. my diet’s crap. so I must exercise
@firemonkey You can also try adding some veggies to pasta instead of meat.
Pasta and veggies mix well, plus pasta is inexpensive.
I buy frozen meat. It is a lot cheaper. Don’t mean like frozen chicken Kiev, I mean frozen breast fillets.
I can’t live without meat.
whether it’s canned soup, canned spaghetti, canned salmon, chicken nuggets… whatever’s on sale
I will never understand why people will pay so much for dead animal flesh. It’s not even necessary…
Adding sweet potato cubes apparently tastes like meat. I once made a pasta with sweet potato in the sauce, and people thought there was meat in it, haha.
It tastes good.
Ohh, I see. I suppose that makes it okay then.

P.S.
Not trying to be rude, but people eating other living beings just really irritates me, and also makes no sense to me.
I get some “Vegan Tikka Masala” box meals from Trader Joe’s. It tastes just like beef!
There are also Chinese restaurants that sell fake meat made of tofu. You can get chicken or my favorite, sweet and sour pork.
