Fresh food

I hardly ever have fresh food. A case of poor organisational and planning skills, low motivation, and ridiculously short sell by dates. When I can get myself into a state to cook from scratch is a very hit and miss affair with often several or more days between. Then there is the issue of poor cooking skills and difficulty with things like cutting and peeling potatoes etc.

Thats why most of the stuff I order can be frozen. The freezer is your friend.

I know to buy and use frozen veg but then there’s the issue of potatoes to go with a meal. I have not seen frozen half/whole peeled potatoes.

I used to buy microwave-able french fries :fries:. They were suitable for freezing. That way you get your potato hit with all the convenience!

Check out the Frozen Chips & Potatoes section to see what they have.

I bought everything for a salad today, but that is not the norm for me, I usually just get frozen foods

I like salad but there is the issue of cost to make a good salad ,and also using everything up before it goes off.
Those salad bowls you can get online are mostly pasta with very little salad stuff.

A supermarket near me has a salad counter but I’ve hardly used it as it’s hard to close the lid on the container.

Summer time is a good time for salad as the veggies are usually cheaper

I’d complain to the manager re. the salad container lids if I were you.

i used to buy frozen foods, but frozen meat take a bit to prepare, compared to buying pre-cooked meat. canned food has been good for a long time, but i’ve recently got bored with it. a lot of salt/sodium. canned soup started to taste like lava down my throat.

Canned food often has a funny taste for me.
