Another Friday evening has arrived and I did light my candle. I remembered how I lived in my car in Hollywood in Feb 2001. Actually I never expected to go to Hollywood but in the beginning of 2001 I drove my car from Miami to LA. It took 3.5 days and I saw different sides of America. I remember how I drove on the Sunset Boulevard in the evening and spent my time at the Griffith Observatory. It was a different life and I have now made a long journey from Hollywood to my little town in Eastern Finland. I could have stayed there longer, but I decided to leave America because I became tired of living alone in my car. In Hollywood I saw many young people who hoped to become actors and actresses and so to operate in the movie industry. I never went to any movie studios. Maybe I should have and my life could have changed more. From Beverly Hills I used a coin telephone to call at my storage unit in Miami and asked them to hold my mail that I then collected when I returned to Miami. My car living was like in the movies. Have you been to Hollywood?

Yep, I lived 783 days in my car in America after my divorce. I lived mostly in Miami, but then also drove to other places such as LA, New Orleans, Atlanta, NYC, Washington DC and so on.
I’ve been to Hollywood as part of a holiday when I was 10. I visited the walk of fame, the theatre and Universal Studios and did a bus tour.
It was August and boiling.
I didn’t stay that long.
It is funny that I met one man today who had been in Florida for one year and was now back in my little town. He said to me ‘Hei miamilainen’ meaning ‘Hello a person from Miami’. I thought this was funny.
I went there twice in the summer of 2010.
