The candle light ritual: Hollywood

Another Friday evening has come and the sun has set and as always I had my candle light ritual. Today I was thinking how I lived in my car in Hollywood and elsewhere in that area. This was in Feb 2001. I drove my car from Miami to LA where I lived for nearly one month. I often drove in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica etc. When the evening came I drove often to the Griffith Observatory to look at the lights of the whole LA. I thought that my experience there was quite positive. Also in many evenings I went to the library of UCLA where I used the Internet and read some books such as the book of ‘The Man of the mountain’. Who would have guessed that eventually I would be riding my bicycle in the snow on another side of the world, I never planned my life and things just happened. So my LA journey was success and I enjoyed staying in Hollywood. Does this make any sense at all?

Yes it does. You used to have an adventurous spirit and took things day by day and are now reminiscing on your life.

Nice pic btw.

I suppose you are right that I had an adventurous spirit when I was younger. I often get these images in my mind. Just today I thought how I met one Soviet person in Leningrad in March 1989 and how he told that he had been in Cuba. And then 10 years later I lived near Little Havana where many Cubans lived in Miami. I also often visited Key West that is just 90 miles from Havana, Cuba. Somehow life had just evolved in that way.

And now I am here

I have been to Cuba. It’s beautiful. Just to the Navy base there. Never out in the town. The dolphins used to follow our ship in and out of the harbor.

The water is crystal clear blue. Stunning.
