i missed a sniff of the 80’s by 5 months and 5 days.
but i love its music
In the 80s my favorite Rock group was placed in the Limelight
For most of the 80’s I kept my act together pretty well. I exercised, meditated, and went to AA. I don’t think I was that happy, though. I had my ups and downs. I liked the runner’s high I got from exercise. The nineties were the Haldol years for me, and those were the worst years of my life. Since the millennium I’ve been relatively happy.
The eighties for me: Hospitals, psyche wards, group homes, relapses, drug addiction, selling my possessions for food, being broke, wrecking cars. I certainly did not have my act together. But with my cocaine use and partying on Stanford campus, hanging out in clubs, being in the worst part of town several times a week or more, living in an extremely affluent area in Silicone Valley, dating a rich girl, rubbing elbows with the elite of my town. Well I had some good times and my dad made the comment that I was “living in the fast lane” in the late eighties. But I worked a job for four years in the middle of all that, and yes, the music was good. The Boss came out with some good music. Bruuuuuuuce.
