I lived in the border city in the end of the 1980s and went to discos. Good memories.
I liked those slow dances in discos. Well, that’s 34 years ago. Great memories.

I love music, movies, video games, toys, etc… from the 80’s. I was a kid then (born in 78). And my favourite show ST:TNG started in 87.
I was born in 87, so no memories of the 80s.
I was born in 1970. Fond memories of the 80’s. Great music.
I truly disliked disco music. We used to go to rollercades when I was a kid. Miss those - they were fun.
I used to skate at Rollerland between 79 - 83. Also used to go here during the same period:
It was a sad moment for me when Lloyd’s closed.
Yeah, the music was good. And there were some good movies i.e. The Breakfast Club, Platoon, Edward Scissorhand etc. I did a lot of fun stuff that had nothing to do with the eighties. After the initial bad times in the early eighties, I got stable, made a few friends, got a car, went to college.
Around 1983 I had a friend and we used to walk over to the local clubs or nearby bars. I remember he was the first person I knew who had his own coffee maker and we used to sit at his place or my place and drink coffee and talk. Or sit on the front porch and drink a couple beers. There was a fast food joint within walking distance of our apartment that sold 29 cent hamburgers and an order of fries for 50 cents. That was part of our entertainment.
When I knew him I was only out of the hospital about a year and I remember going with him and another friend out to eat at this food court at a mall and while we were eating it was like a big deal that we were out in public amongst the “normies” by ourselves (no nurses, no counselors) and it was like a joke that we were crazy but we were out doing normal things. It was the first time I did something like that. It was like we were getting away with something. Of course now, I don’t give it a second thought.
I moved again and made another friend a few years younger than me. We used to grab our baseball gloves and a bat and a couple baseballs and go to a nearby park and play catch or hit each other flies. Or we would go to a neighborhood park right around the corner and play basketball and sometimes got into pick-up games. with other people there. Anyways, after the initial misery of the first few years of the 1980’s, the middle eighties were a stable, somewhat innocent, fun period. Then in 1986 I got addicted to crack and my priorities changed. Then it was partying and spending all my money and time on drugs, until I got clean in 1990.
Still love 80s music!
