I’m terrified to tell my landlady about a few problems that need fixing. Am ì just being ridiculous?
You should tell her. It’s her property to fix, not yours.

It’s her responsibility to do the repairs. You can tell her without being argumentative or demanding. Just tell her the problems in a kind way and you’ll be fine.

Here’s the deal: You moved in agreeing to pay rent. The part of her agreement is to make repairs. It’s a business contract between the both of you. She knows it’s her responsibility to make repairs. That’s part of what she agrees on when she took on the role of landlord. Asking for repairs is not being unreasonable or anything out of the ordinary and she knows this and expects this.
