My boiler is on the blink. I left three messages with my landlord but got no reply. I was too scared to phone him cos he scares me.
My mum got mad and phoned him in a rage. She said a lot of stuff. It got me worried.
My landlord came round and agreed to contact an engineer on Monday.
I am supposed to message him in an hour to say if the boiler is still not workin. I am terrified about him coming round the flat again. His presence really, really upset me.
I am rubbish with authority figures.
Sorry you’re having a rough time. Do you have a reason to be afraid of him, or is it paranoia acting up?

He is just a nasty guy. He has been barred from every pub cos he is always picking fights.
He complained about a lot of â– â– â– â– today. Honestly I keep the flat pretty damn good compared to most single guys I know.
He intimidates me - and he knows it. I kinda fall into the role of someone who has been psychologically abused. He is a bully basically.
■■■■. As I was writing that post it occurred to me just what a prick that guy is. I don’t have to take any of his ■■■■. I pay him £350 a month - he should fix all the broken stuff.
â– â– â– â– him

Apologies for the curse words!
Man I really worried my folks. Phoned them like 10 times in an agitated state. They ended up ignoring my calls. I don’t blame them. I am an ■■■■■■■.
@Jimbob I am sorry you are going through this…that must be awful to worry about. Please try not to feel afraid of your landlord…if he ever hurt you you could press charges.

He sounds like a jerk. Sorry you have to deal with him. He legally has to fix things for you though, so I hope you don’t let him bully you into accepting living in a broken apartment.

Hey guys. Thanks so much for the nice replies. Feeling better now - just tired after all the stress.
Landlord is coming round tomorrow. Gonna go out. He has a key and can let himself in.

If you’re afraid of him is there anyone besides your parents that can come and be there with you when you have to deal with him? You are right, if you pay him the rent its his job to see things are kept in working order. You could always have the cops get involved if needed but I noticed you mentioned you’re nervous around authority figures.
I was reading this article on time.com about bad landlords http://time.com/money/3087003/good-strategies-for-managing-a-bad-landlord/
One thing it says is to make sure you have written documentation that you’re calling him, such as printing out text’s/emails, or handwriting complaints to him. Keep a copy of everything so things don’t go “lost” if you need them. Take photographs of the problem too just in case. You may want to pursue legal actions if he doesn’t hold up his part of leasing agreement.
