I was on the Haldol decoate shot for a long time. They tried lowering the dose, but while they were doing this I was taking ephedrine, drinking lots of coffee, and doing a moderate workout. That, in combination with the lower dose, got me really amp’ed up. I ruined a family Thanksgiving get together. They were sitting around making nice conversation, and I was pacing back and forth talking about death and destruction.
Haldol can cause more drool. R u sure it’s not the cogentin causing the dry mouth? That stuff dried my mouth out so bad i ended up with a mouth full of cavities.
I took 60 mg of haldol before and yes that was bad but now i take 6mg of haldol and its been amazing. Haldol isn’t a torture med. i was tortured much worse with clozapine and risperdal. The problem is when it’s prescribed in 1950s dose levels. New studies show that 10mg doses and lower even as low as 3 mg is just as effective as high doses without all the side effects.

It was the cogentin which I no longer take. But a new thing is happening to me now. I am sleeping with my mouth open which leaves my mouth feeling funny.

I am down to 5mg at night only for 6 weeks then I get to come off.
