Im seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow through telepsychiatry. Anyone have any experience doing this its my first time
I do it with my psychiatrist.
At first I was unsure about it but now I’m used to it.
I like it better than going in person to see her.
My pdoc and I have done a few video appointments.
I don’t like them as much as being in person,
But it’s not bad.
No need to be apprehensive.
Yes. It went well for me.
That’s how I do it thanks to coronavirus
My apts are all on the phone since coronavirus.
It still goes well just like real apts.
Thanks for the info everybody, I feel better about doing it now
I had a telephone session. In preparation I did a little cleaning of the living room and put away everything in it’s place. I poured a big glass of juice, ate a snack, and closed any windows. Once I had my environment clean and comfortable and I had a little food in my belly I relaxed for 15 minutes beforehand on the couch. And then I called and everything went smoothly. Both going in person and talking on the phone has their advantages and disadvantages.
I prefer a call rather than an hour each way on the train…let alone being exposed to train air con etc. My shrink prefers in person but I’m not ready to expose myself to public transport just yet.
I do teletherapy with video. I like not having the added stress of a commute. It would be nice to go in every now and again, but for right now it’s a good arrangement for me.
Someone from my mental health team comes over once a month and uses some video chat on his phone for me to talk to my pdoc. It’s been going good so far.
I only see the pdoc as needed, but I have to go to his office. My psychiatric care provider shut down with Covid19. Last week they just started doing group therapies again. Before Covid19 I would see a therapist once a week for one-on-one counseling. The office is a mile away from where I live.
