I can’t stop thinking about @SkinnyMe beating her paranoia with three APs in her cocktail. I want to bring up adding one at my next pdoc appointment in early October.
Gina takes Risperdal consta but I don’t want an injection. I’ve been on Geodon and couldn’t live with the side effects of extreme sedation and weight gain. That leaves Seroquel from her mix.
Do you have any positive experiences adding a low dose of Seroquel to your current AP? I take 30 mg of Haldol right now and do well on it as far as voices go but I still need help to tackle extreme paranoia.
Thoughts? I had massive weight gain on Zyprexa, Geodon, and Abilify so those are out. What would I be able to expect from Seroquel?

In my experience seroquel can be a bit of a weight gainer too. Is quite good for anxiety.

You can get risperdal in oral pills

Really? Why is there a conspiracy to make people with sz/sza so fat?! It’s infuriating! I definitely am looking for something to help with anxiety though. Maybe a lower dose wouldn’t cause weight gain.
I know you can get Risperdal in pills, but I’ve read about more people here not liking it than those that do. Maybe that’s just the luck of what I click and I should be considering Risperdal as well?
Thanks for replying!

Seroquel did not like me
Went unconscious three times.
It doesn’t do that to everyone. It’s worth a try

I was prescribed 25mg - 100mg seroquel for sleep/panic attacks along side my other AP and AD.
Worked well for me. I didn’t gain weight either. (Think I’m lucky though, no AP has ever made me gain weight)

Good to hear! I was hoping someone would say that.

I liked seroquel …it’s great for sleep. I have no idea how it would interact with haldol. Or can remember its effect on paranoia
