Taking Risperdal (risperdone)

Yeah I use to it was apart of my workout routine. I miss working out and sometimes I feel like I can do but when I get ready I just get depressed

Oh I’m sorry to hear that. it might change with time. I get that too though when going to the gym now I get depressed on the way feeling like a lonely zombie

Yeah I have a tendency of isolating myself from everyone

How has it helped you?

Wow 2 years later I no longer take risperdal but I now exercise daily eat healthy food. Have a great career. Still of some bad days but more good days!

I take Risperdal injections. The first year on them, I lost 50 lbs. But, now as I’m getting older, I’m gaining the weight back. I’ve already gained back 13 lbs over a 5 year time period.

Is your weight acceptable now? What medicine are you taking now

Risperidone gave me restless leg syndrome at night…and a soft dick.

I got off of that drug right away and switched to Abilify.

Oooooooh yeeeees, it was terrible!!! 15kg extra

Now that I’m off risperdal it is. I also worked out a lot and I eat very healthy. I’m on Geodon now and it has worked amazing

Taking at bedtime has always worked for me

So you are no longer overweight?

I tend to forget to read the dates. What med are you on now? I’m gonna be getting the consta shot due to my inconsistency of taking my meds…

No I’m not overweight anymore. It took a good while to where I am. I use to go on hard hikes, weight lift, very dedicated to exercise. I also meditate daily and I definitely watch what I eat.

I take 4mg a day. When I first started it I was hungry all the time and I gained about 20-24 pounds.
Being hungry has finally gone away but the weight is staying on :frowning:

Risperdal 4mg is the only working med with no side effects for me. I tried 4 antipsychotics. Risperdal and Olanzapine are the strongest antipsychotics after Clozapine.

I get 25 ml injection. I will say the side effects arent as strong as taking the pills. I do have to eat less tho, i get what you mean about the food cravings. Personally i went back to omad, one meal a day, but with some snacks. I usually cant help it at night when i sleep walk and eat something. So ive put healthy snacks in the fridge and im forced to eat them.
