SZ people underestimate the sense of smell

It’s our most primal sense and it’s closely tied with memory. It’s easy to recall experiences just by remembering how things smelt, I think it’s the missing key. Also try to smell sound and imagery(not litereally but to link associations interweaved in a synergistic sensory output

But anthropologically speaking we humans have a reduced amount of brain functioning devoted toward smell. Its supposed to be one of the more primitive parts of the brain.

I don’t think in the very developed world we live in remembering how things smell will give us any sort of advantage, maybe for the dogs and cats, for us our visual processing and abstract thinking are our main strength.

Also…most any sense can bring about memories…I think you may be over estimating the human sense of smell it didn’t evolve past where its at for a reason…

We harm and protect ourselves with smell, Protecting ourselves from fire, gas and other harmful stuff at the same time we fall in love with all those fancy perfumes that fill our world in almost every product we use to clean and make ourselves smell nice.
What most of us are missing is all those pretty smells are made with cancer causing chemicals and we breath them in daily.
We really should wake up to this.

I think humans in a couple hundred thousand years will evolve away from the nose…

Hellen Keller had to rely on her sense of smell, look how far she got…

I’m pretty sure touch was a big help too lol…

the human race will become extinct in no less than a 100 years the way things are going. Life will die, and restart. may take a while before a restart tho, but something has to come from nothing

I think we will make it more than 100 years…maybe not on this planet were kinda hitting that point where the earth won’t be able to recover without a reset…but I think we will be living in space at the least and possibly another planet if all goes well…
