Switching to Vraylar from Ziprasidone

I am taking 20 mgs Abilify since the last 6-7 years. The second medication I was taking along with Abilify was Ziprasidone. It was controlling the symptoms, but giving me brain and body zaps (current -like feelings in the body or the head).

So, we are switching to Vraylar from Ziprasidone.

I started taking 1.5 mgs of Vraylar since the last 2 days, and reduced the 160 mgs of Ziprasidone to 120 mgs. So far so good.

Is there anything I should be aware of before taking Vraylar? Any recommendations?

Chat GPT says that a dose increase of Vraylar can take a long time to provide full effect as Vraylar has a very long half-life.

Vraylar didn’t work for me but it’s been a lifesaver for my best friend. He currently takes the 3mg dose.
