Switching to risperidone, and insomnia etc

The radio was lighter these last three days. Still there, still playing music but not as distressing these last three days.

I introduced risperidone several days ago and am presently taking 2mg a day in two divided doses. (The second day of this - maybe it’s helping the radio dim a little? Who knows…)

I’m supposed to take 800mg amisulpride but there’s no way I want to do that with the expenses it results in! I’ve responded well to amisulpride but never quite got over its expensive costs!

I’d rather try risperidone again as it helped me back in 2005 to get over my very first period of illness.

Two nights ago I woke up past 3am and couldn’t sleep for two hours. I was restless and began to feel paranoid about slight noises I heard, I had thoughts and images inserted into my head from Alien the evil spirit, that someone will come upstairs with a gun and kill me and hubby. I felt scared. But fortunately time passed by quickly and dawn came a few hours later.

I don’t know why I got paranoid, I don’t get that every day or night, but I just happened to get it.

Then last night I couldn’t sleep till past 1am. I was very tired but felt an anxiety, a trapped in my body feeling. My heart was throbbing in my ears and I was scared the risperidone was at fault or the amisulpride with it was too much, but hubby reassured me. I managed to fall asleep with inhaling of lavender oil.

I have been taking 2mg risperidone and 500mg amisulpride for a few days, then tomorrow want to take two weeks of 2mg risperidone and 400mg amisulpride. If I take the 400mg by itself it wouldn’t be enough so I’m thinking maybe the risperidone will let me require less amisulpride.

I’m really wanting to see dr about it so I can be given proper prescription. Fortunately I see her in two weeks, and have just enough risperidone pills to see me through till then. Thank God.

Hoping the switch will make a better difference. I’ll see what the dr says. I can only take it so far with my limited knowledge.

I slept only four hours when I was taking Risperdal …

I take trazodone when I can’t sleep. Afterwards I sleep like 11 hours and I’m groggy the whole next day and I even sleep good the second night after. I don’t take it all of the time because I like being semi alert. Otherwise I stay up some nights all night long with voices sometimes.
