Switch from Invega or not?

Well heres the story. I started Invega awhile back ago. Ever since I’ve been on it, I don’t think I’ve been hospitalized, If so just once in the past two or so years. Well Invega keeps the delusions and loss of reality away for me

Yet I still get the paranoia from time to time and hear noises/sounds/voices sometimes at night depending on the night. Also I get a really uneasy feeling in my head that everything is watching me and things are falling in on me, and also going faster.

As if everything around me has eyes and is focused in on me. And my eyes dart around allot when I’m feeling that way for what reason IDK, but they do like it’s a twtich or something in my eyes. Almost as if things are falling in on me.

So with all those cons should I still take this or try something new that can help with the Paranoia and sounds/noises/voices at night and uneasy feelings?

One thing though it has to be a once a month shot whatever I switch to. I am not responsible enough to take pills everyday for my sz so need a shot that’s once a month.

Or do you think the 234 mg of Invega I should stay on cause it’s kept me out of the hospital for the past two/three years?

If I could find something that would take the paranoia/sounds/voices and uneasy feelings away I would swtich, but am afraid if I switch then I might get hospitalized again from coming off Invega and starting a new med

I know how it is when you start new meds. They don’t work for like 2/3 month’s or so plus the uneasy feelings it can give you from starting a new med.

Just wondering what you guys think I should do. Thinking about talking to my doc but don’t know

I think that you should stay on Invega if you need to stay on a depot,
Clozapine is good for paranoia but you will need to have blood tests and it may cause weight gain and feeling tired.

Well that’s a good side effect from invega to I don’t gain a bunch of weight but I can’t seem to lose any more than 10 lbs and stay around 190 to 200 lbs.

I’m afraid another med will balloon me up and I would not take a med just because of that to. To much weight gain

Invega just works in some ways and others it doesn’t. I’m not bad of enough to go to hospital but I am hearing noises and voices at night and feeling unpleasant like weird feeling I explained in other thread.

If I could find a med that would help me in most ways and not have bad side effects like weight gain then I would do it but can’t seem to find one.

Hopefully invega keeps working for me and I don’t get tolerant to it but only time will tell and then that’s time to switch meds for sure

If I were u I’d switch to abilify maintenna bc Invega was horrible for me. It’s just plain dangerous what it does to ur brain man, just search the drug in this forum’s search bar and most of what you find is how people call it poison, if it does the job great but the prolactin raising aspect and the high side effect profile alone are what made me switch.

I switched from invega (pills) to geodon when invega started crapping out on me at 12mg.

I’m on a really low dose of geodon and I feel great and I’m lising weight.

But like they say C every drug is different for other people. What’s good for some isn’t good for others. Invega has done good for the past couple years, just still the symptoms come back from time to time.

I’m thinking about switching but have to talk to doc first on the 19th or so and see what to do. Don’t want something that will make me gain 20-30 pounds and be lazy, looking for somehting with low side effects like no weight gain and take away the noises/sounds/voices at night at weird panic attack type feeling just worse than a panic attack

Wes, what about a prn AP, haldol? Sometimes, it’s taken with cogentin to combat side effects. With the pills, that is. I also heard the shots don’t have side effects. Haldol is inexpensive, and non weight gaining causing.

Hope this is clear as mud.
