It has me unsettled. I didnāt like the app, and I find it endlessly irritating when people watch it in public with the sound on. I donāt want things banned just for being annoying, though. Weāre a country, not a high school. I didnāt see any justification for their claim that it impacted national security in a measurable way. It seems more like an easy first step in setting a precedent of censorship.
I know a lot of people might laugh at me talking about censorship, but the thing I keep saying is that freedom of speech is a protection from the government, not from a websiteās TOS. The tiktok ban is a government restricting our freedom of speech. Itās completely different and worse.
I just spat tea everywhere.
