This is gonna be controversial but TikTok is toxic to kids does anybody remember the “tide pod” challenge where they ate tide pods for clout also the “devious lick” challenge where morons went to school and vandalized and stole stuff it’s being misused
It either needs people to grow up or it needs to be fully banned there challenges are insane usually
How will they initiate a ban on the free and open, world wide web?
Like if a kid gets caught in school with a bootlegged version, then their parents get grounded by the government?
Sounds abusable to me, can you imagine a cop taking your cell phone, downloading tik tok without your knowledge/consent, and then charging you for the crime as the device owner.
Sir that will be a $700 fine for owning a tik tok device.
But I don’t have tik tok… What are you talking about?
You do now. So you will be charged at your local address on file. Have a nice day.
Owner looks at their download queue.
Ive been skeptical of it since day dot. It comes from China, is not allowed in China’s market, and no servers exist outside of China. Therefore consumers are subject to the Chinese Government’s privacy policies and the like.
Paedophiles setting trends like getting kids to jiggle and do weird things. Parents are letting their children create soft-porn for old men abroad in perverted circles.
This might sound dramatic, but if it shuts down, it’ll be the end of an era for me.
TikTok kept me company during some painful times. It made me feel connected to a larger community when I felt alone. It also helped me reconnect with a childhood friend through sharing and talking about TikTok videos. She introduced me to TikTok DJs, and we spent some fun nights hanging out in their Lives, laughing and requesting songs.
Even if it is not sold to an American company, I have a feeling something will take its place.
But Tiktok in particular was a positive experience for me.
Well, damn. 1515
It’s not something I’ll miss. I never found the content to be substantive enough to bother with. I note that it is also on the list of banned apps on my work phone I just received from my new employer. Oh, and Temu.
I think it’s a good thing. For kids anyway.
