I’ve used it. My sister used it more. I don’t anymore.
We do the same thing here, so it’s kind of like them vs us mentality. Kind of hypocrisy. Furthermore, it’s about control and power in my mind.
My sister says you get to see stuff you don’t see on other platforms like youtube because it’s censored here too. I mean she watches a lot of conspiracy and religious stuff and you get to get news nobody ever dreams or talks about really like what’s going on with the farmers and the government and stuff like that. Normies and anybody can upload a video, I guess.
It’s all ■■■■■■■■ to me: the censorship.
I hate videos under five minutes, so TikTok is like the worst possible version of a video app to me. It’s dangerous what long term exposure to videos of that short a length does to your attention span over time if you ask me. I’m tired enough of YouTube trying to shove the “shorts” down my throat all the time as an effort to compete.
I’ve never downloaded it or used it, but have seen a few vertical tik tok videos on YouTube that were just ripped and reuploaded there.
