Supplements and medication

Do any of these supplements actually work? (Sarcosine, l-theanine, etc etc) what supplements do you take with your medication?

I take high strength fish oil, vitamin e, vitamin c, b12, b complex everyday for sz, plus beetrooot extract to lower blood pressure and plant sterols to lower cholesterol. Low salt diet and no sugar for over a year now.

The fish oil seems to limit any depression I feel, but you need to take 1000mg of epa every day. (That is 3 pills spaced out during the day.)

I haven’t tried sarcosine, but it is meant to lift motivation iif you need it. The l theanine to limit positive symptoms like racing thoughts and hallucinations is meant to work, but I haven’t had that yet either.

It all depends on the individual how you respond to the supplements which is a bit like the antipsychotics.

The only supplement that actually has an effect is L-theanine. I don’t know whether it helps with schizophrenia but it’s very relaxing and calming. I don’t notice much from Sarcosine or fish oil. Also B12 relaxes me in high amounts. Vitamin D helps a tiny bit but honestly doesn’t do much. Maca helps a fair bit in giving me energy. I’ve tried just about every vitamin and herb and these are the only real ones I’ve stuck to. L-theanine is my favourite though.
