A lot happened for me but it seems like only yesterday I lost my job and went through horrible depression.
In 2017 I enjoyed living with my partner in our new modern home.
My business doubled this year since I started working from my own home office
I traveled four times on vacation and spent time with family.
I bought a lot of new designer clothing items.
I adopted Missti who is now my BFF
I got a lot more stable on new medication and started losing weight
I started exercise and yoga and quit smoking and drinking
I baked a pumpkin and made 3 different cakes with it
I threw an amazing Halloween party
I saw Imagine Dragons in concert
I learned quite a lot of things this year, the most surprising was, just because you have an ‘Official’ document doesn’t mean the people who look at it will believe it’s real.
I also learned that I dislike trying to prove something that’s true, and even with extensive paperwork-which I don’t like either- some folks just like to deny you because they can.
This year seems to have gone by fast, but it feels super painfully slow…agonizingly slow.
I sure hope 2018 will be a better year, but never say “Things couldn’t get any worse” unless you want to be shown that it sure as heck can.
I have a fear of things getting worse or some horrible illness coming onto me or my family but I survived a hell of an illness. So just want to be happy and enjoy the little things.
If 2017 were a movie title it would be fast and furious. This year went by so fast with a few real tough spots. I don’t want the first half of 2018 to by so quick
Thank you @mermaid1, your posts have been positive, uplifting, and made my days brighter. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and posts on this forum.
I hope you find life gives you all the best too, you are a beautiful, caring and friendly person, quite an asset to this community!
Like a undecided sandwich: slices of highs and low with a meh bit in the middle. Hm, but come to think of it there were a couple of days in April when it dawned on me I had actually passed my exam with a distinction. I hadn’t bothered to think about it really! May we all look forward to a symptom free end to the year in a couple of months and a momentous 2018. Something good has got to happen next, right?
@anon1571434 What do you mean by “slow down your exercises”? I do 2 exercies, 2 sets, 9 reps all in 20 minutes. I also eat some crap food but once in like 2 weeks.
My peak bench press when I was younger was 2 plates or 225lbs. Achieving a body fat % in the teens is quite difficult. I’m still at 22%.
There is nothing I hate more than the elitism of exercise.
Like so many things in life, like good health, intelligence etc,
exercising is the privilege of a select few who have the ability to exercise.
What I can say is that you should be very grateful for being able to exercise if you are indeed able to.
Got a certificate from MITx from Edx in programming.
Feel better. The best I’ve ever felt.
Read a lot of great books
Quit energy drinks
Still smoking but I am rolling now. Saving like $100 a month or more.
Walking more like 6000 or 8000 steps a day.
Content about being obese
We have faster internet now
Finished Intro. to Mathematical Thinking from Stanford (Didn’t get the certificate). It was through Coursera. They wanted me to be a community TA for the course.
Did a couple other courses like Learning how to Learn, which was fun and easy. Learned about the Pomodoro method which is used for people who like procrastinating.
