Sulforaphane for Schizophrenia?

Hi everyone,

I just saw something on the internet, apparently the supplement Sulforaphane (broccoli seed extract) is supposed to work for schizophrenia! I just ordered some and it is in the mail and will arrive tomorrow, has anyone here tried this, and if so how did it work?

I take it and can’t do without it.

It seems to really help with anxiety.

I use this

I ordered some and tried it this morning, it works GREAT! I feel so good! It is completely harmless, I would highly recommend that you try it! Just get on Amazon and search for sulforaphane, you will find it!

Interesting. I’d like to give it a try, but will run it past my doc first to be safe.

I’ve ordered some from Amazon I’m not convinced but will give it a try

Why not just eat a lot of broccoli and cauliflower? Just saying just a thought.

I think the level of extract in the supplement greatly exceeds what a person can eat in a couple of days with fresh veg in a single dose.

I received some and tried a dose. It is too early to evaluate. The product doses vary a lot and mine said 20 mg. Have seen it with 400 mcg to 250 mg.

I have had bad luck trying supplements. Most of them made me worse. I would avoid them and stick with your AP.

There are a lot of preliminary trials on this, last time I checked I haven’t seen any great evidence. Still it seems like a promising area of research given how many trials are currently underway. There is a lot of hype around Sulforaphane atm so the above also makes sense.

I also think that the quality of Sulforaphane in supplements probably isn’t comparable to what they are using in the trials.

I’ve used broccomax and BROQ before and not noticed a lot. I can no longer access BROQ or Prostaphane. I also heard Avmacol is good quality but is still pretty expensive.

I felt mellow taking it in the afternoon. But I had insomnia that night despite usually have good sleep. Then I felt tense the next day and some people pointed at me, as if I looked odd.
IF I try it again, it will be a half dose in the morning. I might be out $14.
