Has anyone tried this. Im not a fan of bread or pasta tbh so its pretty easy for me im also not a fan of sugary drinks but im trying to cut out alot of sugar out of my diet due to being on olanzapine and my diabetes risk from my hypothyroidism/pcos.
I just want to get healthy and have a healthy body/fat percentage.
I have started gaining weight on my stomach and im pretty embarrassed about it tbh
Low carb is probably best, what you also need to realise is that foods on a low carb diet are low on the glycemic index. So they cause less spikes on insulin. and that is exactly what you want because anti psycotics like olanzapine rise it. Milk is high in carbs however you have to opt for Greek yoghurt, and even then moderation is key. Recently I added Berberine to my routine its suppelement. But like all its a combination you need to exercise, and sleeping is important aswell
I can’t handle a low carb or a ketogenic diet. I adore sugar and carbs just way too much to give them up entirely.
What I can do is start consciously eating more healthily by cutting out all the scads of cookies and switching to fruit and. nuts and very limited dark chocolate. I’m now cooking more and eatinng more fruits and vegetables and much less sugar.
I still eat bread, pasta, rice, cereal, tortillas, cheese, milk, greek yogurt, basically anything my heart desires except cookies, milk chocolate and white chocolate.
A week has gone by and I’ve already lost 5 lbs. I haven’t lost that much weight in over ten years. The general trajectory over the last ten years has been up, up, and up. Now, its finally going down.
I can fast, I even went to extremes a few times before, losing 25lbs in the process. Then I folded.
The secret is to find a diet and lifestyle that can be sustained long term. Eating less, eating better food and exercising are all parts of the equation.
