Yes, to stop the sugar is one of the best decisions…
I’ll tell you my thing.
I lost ten kilos on 10 mgs of zyprexa by eating just one meal per day… But i kept the sugar, cause i was too depressed still and i hit a plateau.
I was 92 kilos, now i am 82 , but i cant lose more than that…
The thing is that i am still very sedentary, cause i am still too sick and now i add depakote to my trt, if i start to go outside more with this kind of diet, i can lose even more, thats it :slightly_smiling_face:
All the best!!

Do you still have fruits? I dont think i can eat alot of them

Yes, the fruits are sugar still yeap…
No, i dont eat much of them, but my other sugar intake is crazy still…
I eat a whole chocolate every evening in fact.
The rest of the day is just one meal, but i eat sugars in my evening yeap…

I guess that the fruits are still better than the chocolates…
So dont put yourself down too much…
I probably have a worse habit than you with the candies etc, the fruits are better still if you cut the other sugar i think…
:wink::wink::rose:
Personally, i cant follow , cook even less some special meals, so i chose the one meal per day and lost ten kilos yeap…
Big hugs!!

Idk, for some its impossible, i know…
I usually just clench teeth, until my need passes and the rest is, that i smoke and drink coffee instead…
Maybe to bite something or a bit of juice also can help…
Under stress too, i cant even eat, but this is not an advice, i know lol…
Yeah, i basically smoke a lot and drink coffee, thats what helps me the most i think…

I’m OMAD’ing since 2 years ago. Went from 115kg to 82 (250 to 180 lbs).

My advice to maintain the diet is to eat as late as possible. I don’t strictly do OMAD because I drink a little water protein shake at around 1 pm.

My sweet spot is around 4.30- 6.30 pm. If I don’t eat till then, I know it’s gonna be a succesful day because I’m not hungry in the evening anymore. The problem for me was eating too early and getting bored (and eating again) late evening.

The meal is a complete feast btw (2k cal in one sitting). It feels awesome.

@POET My advice is to start slowly. Eat 2 meals a day for several weeks before jumping into OMAD. Make sure you eat enough calories in those 2 meals and then start bringing those 2 meals closer and closer together until you are ready to combine them. It can be done but it does take some time to get used to it. Hope that helps!

Ive lost weight on olanzapine. Low carb diet is helping me lose. I recently gained some due to a road trip. Back on low carb losing the gained weight. I take 20mg olanzapine and i recently lost 10lbs. So in my case it is possible.

It is possible, just difficult.

I’m sort of doing OMAD. I eat diner around six, but where I differ in a that I’ll have a low calorie snack a little bit before bed. It definitely helps me, but my snack before bed can’t be one of my trigger foods, or else I’ll binge.

I’m currently down 99 pounds from my starting weight. I initially lost 140 lbs, then I had a traumatic event and gained 70lbs back, then lost 29 of the gained weight. I’m frustrated with myself, but I’m back on track.

I’m on 20 mg of olanzapine, 1 mg of risperidone, and 20 mg of citalopram.

I’ve lost 45 lbs (20.4 kg) in the last year. I’m currently plateauing.

When I ate 1400 calories per day, I lost 1 lb per week. Lately I’ve had more like 1700 calories per day so I’m not losing. However, I’m also not gaining.

I exercise 4x+/week now. This week, it’ll be 3 because I’ve been under the weather.

A diet that is high in sugar and carbs and low in protein and fibre will cause you grief over the long run no matter what med you’re on or not on.

Going off of refined sugar helped my depression. A large hit of sugar winds me up and then I crash hard. I’m more level without and there is less depression after a crash.

I eat a lot of fresh and frozen, non-processed fruit. The sugars in fruit are much healthier for you. Also, there is fibre and many fruits are packed with vitamins and nutrients you need. The calories do add up so if you eat too much you’ll still gain weight. Weight is a math problem as you have to burn more calories than you take in. Some calories are better for you than others.

Beware of sugary fruit juices. They are peddled as being healthy, but they can be just as bad for you as a sweetened soda:

Yes, but one of the safest forms of sugar to consume if you need to satisfy a sweet craving. Better than candy, soda, and sweet baked goods for sure.

thats a good point dude. I find people want to cut out sugar entirely including fruits then like go back and forth slipping up having a chocolate bar or soda etc when they inevitably start craving sugar. IMO its better to acknowledge that sugar cravings are going to come and before they hit just have some fruit.

its like starting a marathon sprinting… it seems like youre doing great like wow im in first place, but over time inevitably you will become tired. i feel like saying “im not going to eat a single gram of sugar!” is like that… i mean whats wrong with apples, bananas and stawberries? did anyone become obese eating those? no. do they impact insulin yes, somewhat. should you avoid them temporarily for extreme weight loss? sometimes… but overall its not really a healthy mentality for the average person i think.

people used to be thin in the 50’s and such. why ? they ate a balanced diet. Now a days everything has to be so extreme. “i will only eat meat!” “i will only eat fruit” etc… thats why everyone is overweight because they bounce from one diet to another to another and end up trashing the diet after a few weeks. The only diet noone is doing is a balanced diet imo.

sorry for the rant lol just giving my opinion.

You can overdo fruit, but it has a much lower glycemic load, and that’s what you need to watch out for with sugars. You’re not as likely to develop insulin resistance from munching on an apple as you are from swigging a 1L bottle of Coke.

A person can get fatty liver from an all fruit diet, too. Balance and moderation in all things.
