Has dramatically cutting back on sugar and refined carbs helped you in any way?

Im looking at cutting back alot to reduce my pcos symtoms and diabetes risk from being on olanzapine. Has this helped you in anyway?

Yes. Being on a high protein diet was helpful, but animal protein is bad for cancer.

Sugar has helped with weight loss and also sugar craves. Eating sugar makes me want more sugar. Losing weight has bumped up my overall health and energy. As to carbs, I eat fewer of them than in the past but I don’t cut them out because not having any makes me so miserable it affects my mood in a bad way, raises my stress, and that elevates SZ symptoms.

Yes I cut out sugar and most carbs for a few years after gaining 25 kg on 25mg olanzapine within a few months. Lost 30kg within two years of doing so. Now I maintain the diet on weekdays but will make a pizza or potatoes twice a week on average since I am on my desired weight. I did always include a 2 or 3 pieces of fruit everyday so probably no keto. Aside from the weight loss it is really nice not to have energy fluctuations due to glucose spikes throughout the day. Made a big change in my mood too, though there are other factors too I think this played a role. Also no processed except for some cheese and yoghurt, lots of fibre and fermented stuff.

I lost my belly fat and a bloated belly on a low carb diet. I just feel a whole lot better overall eating this way.
