I don’t want diabetes tbh

I’m on Seroquel and I also have trouble controlling myself around sugary foods. It’s horrible.

Many alcoholics have issues with sugar. Alcohol is, after all, a form of sugar. Some recovering alcoholics recommend that you consume a lot of sugar when you are going cold turkey with alcohol, or if you’re just craving it. I tried that approach when I craved alcohol, but I found that I just craved alcohol more when my sugar fix went away.

i feel that sugar does an excellent job of treating my symptoms. just like many other medications for sz, sugar will give you diabetes and make you gain weight. so i do not see why one way is better then the other

I constantly fight the urge to eat sugary products. Even raisins are something I tend to eat in excess. It’s all decided at the grocery store. If I get sugary products they will be eaten very quickly even if I get a large quantity. I gain weight quickly when I fail to not do that, and if I don’t I keep my weight in check. I must admit that not eating sugar makes my meals very boring as almost every type of food item contains some and there’s not much to choose at the store.

When I was 20 or so, I got treatment for Bulimia at an outpatient center for alcoholics. They treated people with eating disorders, like Bulimia, because they believed there was such similarity in addiction/cravings for alcohol/food/sugar… I do agree with that correlation.
I absolutely crave sugar and prefer sugar to anything else…

Risperdal’s notorious for increasing the risk of diabetes. Curb the sugar as both together are a recipe for disaster.
