Substance induced psychosis

I wish my sz was caused by a substance but it seems genetic.

“A Japanese study of recovery from methamphetamine psychosis reported a 64% recovery rate within 10 days rising to an 82% recovery rate at 30 days after methamphetamine cessation”

The only drug I used was weed and only tried it 3 times before my psychosis diagnosis. So I guess my sz is genetic which sucks more.

82% completely recovered from psychosis without meds after 30 days of drug cessation.

Just imagine if you had an alter ego who was hooked on crack and meth, and you had to live in his withdrawls and psychosis because he wouldn’t get off the ■■■■.

I swear I drink because I’m at my wits end, I smoke because it ttreats my childhood, combat, and military sexual trauma. I’m making it happen to this day juggling the whole crew of SERE school. I eat through cadre and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m for you to live your life but you gotta be a person who lives, works, and communicates with others. If you can handle the stuff and get by at work therapy and household chores I don’t think anyone should ridicule you for it.

You’'re being groomed by doctors who think they can turn you into a vegetable and control every aspect of your life, just think and use your head and understand that we all have to make our own decisions whether or not a doctor is there. I believe in you, and my psychosis is just as nuts as yours, you’re not alone.

I wish I could contribute my psychosis to my past meth use, but I’m convinced I was in the prodrome phase before I took up the habit. I was already paranoid, thought people were watching me through the vents in my apartment, thought people were talking about and laughing at me when I passed them, couldn’t focus on my work. I’ve also had hallucinations since childhood, and have an uncle with sz.

I do worry if I ever saw a psychiatrist they’d tell me it was my meth use at the time I began hearing voices, when I’ve been off meth for well over a year and still hallucinate all the time. Maybe it was a factor in bringing it all about, but I don’t believe it was the source.

I find this kind of validating. Thanks for posting.

dude soemtimes life is complicated. But I pick up the pieces and start every day from the beginning. I’m going to hold them accountable in front of the company of the Lord God.

We shall see what happens then.

I had drug induced psychosis when I was 16, but then I kept having relapses, so they said it was SZ all along pulling the strings
