Hey I got a 100 on the test for unit 3/10
Feeling a bit better about it.
Really hard stuff though!
Anyone familiar with IPA?

The International Phonetic Alphabet? I’ve heard of it cos I’m into linguistics

Yes that’s it. I’m trying to memorize it, may be required if I teach English.

It’s a lot to memorize really.

Who are you going to teach? I took an TESL class some 30 years ago. It was free. I was going to do some volunteering teaching English but I never got to teach anyone.

I don’t know who I will teach yet. It would be online. Maybe Chinese or Korean?

Very good :+1:. I would love to do something like that.

There is a game similar to Words With Friends that uses the IPA instead. I played it with my classmates when I was taking SLP classes. Let me see if I can find it again.

You could try volunteering to tutor ESL to get some experience. I used to be a volunteer ESL tutor both for the city’s adult education ESL class as well as through the local library that offered individual ESL tutoring.

Yes there are volunteers programs I’m aware of already but I need to finish study first :1st_place_medal:

Oh, I see. They did not require any kind of certification back when I volunteered. We were just provided ESL education materials to use while tutoring.
