So excited! I got in contact with a girl who will stay a few months here - she works in NGO and moves around the region - and I’m going to help her learn croatian so she could be able to hold a casual conversation.
I met her yesterday and she is really cool…as american as one could be sweet girl with a nose piercing, a year younger than me.
I think its going to be a great experience.
Okay I’m nervous about teaching, which method to apply and such…there’s no really good learning material for Croatian language, but I’m gonna try anyways.
I had voices in my mind … they are going to train you to be a great agent one day … but seriously @Sarad the following words were in my mind ‘minusta koulutetaan vakooja’ meaning ‘I will be trained to be a spy’ meaning you @Sarad
We didn’t discuss the price but I won’t work for free I guess since we’re both beginners we gonna meet at some reasonable number.
She doesn’t really want to go into complexity of grammar, but to learn to speak and understand on a simple everyday basis.
I must tell her how much I love Americans. Lmao. But she’ll think I’m nuts.
Just one suggestion, you might like to study Berlitz’s methods how they teach different languages. I did one Finnish language teaching in 1994, well 23 years ago in America. They are quite good. I am happy for you.
